Through legal notice number 29 of 2009, the Attorney General delegated his powers of law revision to the National Council for Law Reporting. The Revision of the Laws Act is the Act of Parliament that gives the Attorney General power to revise the laws.

Our laws are amended in real time. The turn around time between passing of an amendment and effecting the same online is between 0 to 24 hrs on the higher side.

The Kenyan legal system is descended from the British Common Law system. One of the fundamental doctrines of this Common Law is the doctrine of precedent, which is captured in the Latin maxim: stare decisis et non quieta movere, meaning: it is best to adhere to decisions and not to disturb questions put at rest.

Supremacy of this Constitution. (1) This Constitution is the supreme law of the Republic and binds all persons and all State organs at both levels of government. (2) No person may claim or exercise State authority except as authorised under this Constitution.
